New Executive Chef for The Glen Hotel

Revered Executive Chef and steak fanatic, Patrick Carlos, has joined the team at The Glen Hotel's new signature restaurant, the Garden Grille Restaurant and Bar as part of the major renovation.

Chef Patrick Carlos, who grew up in the Philippines, said it was his grandmother who instilled in him a love for cooking, and that 'fresh is always best'.

With a career that spans over 14 years, Chef Patrick Carlos first began his apprenticeship at the age of 21 before working in a small restaurant in Cairns, Queensland.

He's no stranger to large kitchens and a large variety of cuisines, with experience working in and leading kitchens including, Novotel Rockford Hotel and Daydream Island Resort & Spa.

As Head Chef at Cha Cha Char, Carlos led the team to win best steak restaurant in Southeast QLD in 2013 as part of the Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence.

"Working with Char was extremely rewarding. I learnt so much about the quality of meats, cuts and origins; I'm excited to pass this knowledge onto my new team."

Chef Patrick Carlos is extremely proud to be joining the renowned Glen Hotel family, working with a team with over 50 years experience.

The use of local produce, supporting local business and offering the very best in steaks and seafood is what sets the Garden Grille Restaurant and Bar apart from the other restaurants in the area.
